ROSIE, female, 191035000269567 , 01.06.2024, 50 cm, in the shelter since 07/2025 Rosie was found injured in a Roma settlement. In addition to her broken condition, she was full of parasites and ticks and in severe pain. She was immediately transferred to a specialist clinic in Zagreb for a CT scan and then to a specialist clinic in Slovenia for surgery. During the operation, they found a deep, old scar on the lower part of her back from a previous trauma, resembling a blow from a shovel or something similar. At first, Rosie screamed at every touch and was completely uncooperative, which made her rehabilitation more difficult. However, the doctor who operated on her was very optimistic because she had deep pain sensation and wagged her tail, so after four weeks of exercises and rehabilitation, Rosie began to stand up and move on her own. She still has a long road to recovery ahead of her, but we are happy she is not paralyzed. In the meantime, Rosie has relaxed, learned to trust people again, and we can now carry her, touch her, and cuddle her. When she needs something, she barks. She is clean in the house, sleeps in her own bed, and we believe she will make a wonderful companion for someone once she has fully recovered. Rosie is currently in temporary foster care with Aleksandra.
