In the shelter, summer is the best time to make the most for the
welfare of animals we care for.
Currently there are 250 animals in
the shelter, and every month we receive around twenty new ones.
During May and June our donors supplied us with all necessary
materials to build new kennels and renovate the old ones (the wood
was donated by a lumber mill from Donja Dubrava), the iron to build
new fences in all yards and make extensions of the stalls (courtesy
of German donors via Animal Friends Croatia association from Zagreb),
and Helcom Trade from Varaždin donated materials to repair the walls
on the house in the shelter.
We were pleasantly surprised by a donation from Marčan High School,
which gave us almost 300 cypress trees. With the help of volunteers
we planted those trees around the whole shelter to reduce the noise
and the amount of dust that comes from the railway.
We have a lot of work in front of us: repair the walls, set up
fences, new yards and stall extensions, build and paint kennels,
repair old ones. Now, more than ever, we need volunteers who will
donate their time and energy.
